About Abdominal Therapy®

Maya Abdominal Therapy® is an external, gentle, non-invasive therapy developed and used by the Maya in South America for hundreds of years to support and promote healthy reproductive and digestive function, as well as low back and pelvis tension. It uses gentle massage techniques to encourage better nerve, blood, and lymph flow in the abdomen.

Our abdomen houses many of our organs and our gut is our second brain, influencing our emotional wellbeing, cognitive functioning, and even chronic pain. The belly is an often neglected area of the body when it comes to traditional body work, but it is impacts so much of our wellbeing and has so many benefits, and can be an especially supportive treatment for those managing the following conditions:

  • digestive trouble

  • painful periods

  • PMS

  • chronic pelvic pain

  • symptoms of PCOS

  • symptoms of menopause

  • scar tissue and surgery recovery

  • endometriosis

  • early stages of prostate enlargement

  • Erectile dysfunction

  • sciatica

  • prenatal support

  • postnatal care

About Therapeutic  Massage

Did you know that the first possible recording of a foot massage was found in Egyptian hieroglyphics? Massage has been around as a healing treatment for a long time! Additionally, there is a growing body of scientific evidence of the myriad of health benefits of frequent massage including improved sleep, less anxiety, less depression, fewer PTSD symptoms, , injury recovery, improved sports performance, and pain management.

I believe that the body is made to move, so I incorporate movement into my massages, in combination with a number of modalities and techniques including sports massage, Swedish massage, muscular-neural techniques, craniosacral therapy, abdominal massage, prenatal massage, and breath work. I believe the most effective bodywork takes place when it is a collaboration between practitioner and client.

My Story

I was born and raised in Cortez, Colorado. I graduated from Colorado State University with a B.A. in Psychology in 2016, and was called to bodywork after my own chronic pain conditions were relieved through these practices. After I graduated from Boulder Massage Therapy Institute in Boulder, Co in 2021, I have continued to learn as much as possible through additional trainings:

  • 2021 prenatal continuing ed at Boulder Massage Therapy Institute

  • 2021 Introduction to Cranial Sacral Therapy with Liz Chitty

  • 2022 Abdominal Therapy Part 1 with Amy Colo through the Abdominal Therapy Collective

  • 2022 Abdominal Therapy Part 2 with Amy Colo

I feel passionately that massage therapy should be a collaboration between therapist and client. I am constantly learning from my clients and am humbled by their wisdom and resilience. I also love teaching clients about how they can take an active role in their healing through self-care, self-massage techniques, and yoga practices.

I am extraordinarily fortunate to be included in people's journeys as they find healing for themselves and their bodies. I approach every massage with an open heart and gentle hands.

I look forward to working with you on your journey!

What People are Saying about Sadie

I was in a lot of pain from working and sitting at a desk all day, and she really helped me with my chronic back pain.

She doesn't just stick to a routine and do the same thing every time. She actually listens to what I need -- She's the best massage therapist I've been to!

Sadie is very intuitive and is great at working on the areas I need work on and finding the areas I didn't even know I needed worked on!
